Open positions continue to abound for historians working in world or global history. Here's another call for applications emanating from the Department of History at the University of Memphis for a non-tenure track instructor, with the possibility of staying on for up to three years (four years total). The call for applications explains:
The Department of History at The University of Memphis invites applicants for a non-tenure track instructorship in world history to start August 2016, pending funding availability. We are particularly interested in candidates who can offer a wide variety of upper-level online courses in world history, whether ancient or modern.
The position is a one-year appointment—which may be renewed for up to three years. Instructors carry a 4/4 teaching load. Primary responsibilities include creating and teaching undergraduate and graduate history courses for the History Online Degree Program, with some classroom instruction. The successful candidate is expected to be in residence at The University of Memphis and participate in departmental life. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in History or related discipline by the time of the appointment.
