Interview with Sven Beckert on Global History Approaches

As we look forward to our activities at this year's Annual Meeting of the American Historical Association, here's one piece from last year that we missed, namely an interview conducted by Zhanna Popova, a historian of punishment and labor camps in the Russian Empire and USSR, with Harvard historian Sven Beckert.

Readers interested in Beckert's work more broadly may wish to follow up Popova's interview with a review of Beckert's Empire of Cotton published by Toynbee Prize Foundation Executive Director Timothy Nunan in 2014.
