Tenure-Track Position in History, Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (Mexico City, Mexico)
As we enter the season of job postings again, here's one of the first offerings in the field of international history from the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE), an institute in Mexico-City. As with other positions outside of the North American market, note the early (late August) deadline.
The History Department of the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) is receiving applications for a tenure-track position in history with a specialty in international, transnational and/or comparative history for its campus in Mexico City. CIDE is an internationally recognized, publicly-funded research institute for the social sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to participate actively in the department's graduate program in international history (Maestría en Historia Internacional), which has been accredited by CONACYT, Mexico's national council on science and technology.
Preference will be given to those candidates whose research program in international, transnational and/or comparative history aligns best with the needs and goals of the aforementioned Maestría en Historia Internacional. Candidates should have ample teaching experience and a demonstrated record of publication in peer-reviewed journals, and should hold a Ph.D. degree before the January 1, 2017.
Interested in applying? The advertisement notes that candidates should submit their applications via email in pdf format to buzon.historia at cide.edu before August 31, 2016. The call for applications explains that "a complete application will include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, writing sample (this may be a published or forthcoming article or book chapter, or a chapter from the candidate's doctoral dissertation), three letters of recommendation, a work plan that expressly includes both teaching and research goals, and if available, teaching evaluations."
