Toynbee Prize Foundation Call for Editors at Large
The Toynbee Prize Foundation is pleased to announce the 2023-2024 Call for Editors-at-Large.
We welcome applications for the position of Editor-at-Large from graduate students and early career researchers. We are especially interested in scholars working on or located in the Global South as well as those specialized in the early modern and pre-modern periods.
The Toynbee Prize Foundation's Global History website features a mix of long- and medium-form material (interviews with global historians, roundtables on new books, Q&As, book reviews, archival reflections) and short-form material (‘What We’re Reading’ section, conference reflections, blog posts on historical dimensions to popular culture), as well our 60-second video scholar showcases.
Editors-at-Large gain exposure to one of the most vibrant fields in the discipline today, while participating in, covering, and staying up-to-date with new debates, conversations, and movements in global history. They have the opportunity to interview innovators of global history and, through this work, begin directly building their own personal professional network: from younger academics who have released innovative new works to renowned scholars. Past interviewees include Frederick Cooper, Sunil Amrith, Dipesh Chakrabarty, Adam Tooze, Vanessa Ogle, William Rankin, Seema Alavi, and Sebastian Conrad, among many others. Most of all, we wish for Editors-at-Large to further their own careers and interests and to advance the field of global history through our platform.
To apply, please send a CV, cover letter, and writing sample to: toynbeefoundation@gmail.com.
