Seth Meehan interviews Markus Friedrich, the author of Jesuits: A History (Princeton University Press, 2022) which provides an account of nearly five centuries of labor by members of the Society of Jesus around the world. 

Kabir Altaf, "The Evolution of Hindustani Classical Music in Pakistan Since 1947", Economic and Political Weekly.

Altaf traces the evolution of music in Pakistan since the Indo-Pakistan Partition of 1947, focusing mainly on the adaptive strategies employed by gharana musicians to continue performing within the new societal constraints.

With the U.S. Midterm Elections looming, DeSilver compares American voting trends to other nations.

David Wallace-Wells, “Beyond Catastrophe: A New Climate Reality Is Coming Into View”, The New York Times Magazine.

In this article, Wallace-Wells documents how the “window of possible climate futures is narrowing” and it seems that the world could be “mercifully short of true climate apocalypse” yet still distant from the normal.
