At least 150,000 children have been forced to flee their homes since last February’s military coup in Myanmar and others who remain fear for their lives, as international efforts to bring an end to the crisis have failed.

On the same day when the three Olympic Villages officially opened their doors to athletes for the Beijing Winter Olympics, China officially established its largest-ever Winter Olympics team (including 176 athletes) in its history. The athletes vowed to achieve the best results in the country's Winter Olympic history while demonstrating their strength, perseverance and modesty.
